BULLION

Concept & Visual Language

For the Carhartt WIP Radio show hosted by London producer, songwriter, and DJ Nathan Jenkins, known as Bullion, the artwork built a new visual narrative in the language of Bullion's own catalog. Bullion's work moves fluidly between solo output, sample-led experimentation, and production for artists like Nilüfer Yanya, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Panda Bear, all channeled here through a mix of solo tracks, collaborations, and select remixes.

The centerpiece of the artwork draws directly from Bullion's own visual world: original illustrations from "A City's Never" and the window motif from the corresponding album cover were taken as raw material and reassembled into a new illustration, told in the same linework and style, but composed to resolve into the Carhartt C at its core. The original bird animation, created by George Wheeler, served as the source material: screenshots of it were taken and missing frames hand-drawn to complete a new stop-motion sequence. A custom glow filter was then applied in After Effects to achieve Bullion's delicate, luminous visual signature, rendered in a soft pink-to-violet gradient with fine white outline linework, birds and cloud motifs circling the mark.
